THEY CAN RETIRE

Five Local employees who are involved in the graft case filed with the Ombudsman may be able to retire, said Ex-Kag. Pepito Gambe. He told the Observer Monday that he heard that MPDC Ariel Galarroza, Treasurer Cymbeline Tupag and Municipal Agriculturist Hernan Carbonilla are considering retirement. They can if Gogoy give them clearance, Gambe said, which is unlikely for he will be liable for this due to that pending case. "Madaut mas Gogoy". What will happen is they may retire without the benefit from the GSIS, he said.

A REMINDER TO OBSERVERS

Again this is to bear in our minds we are not On Target on corrupt persons, only corruption as support to the national government's program of "Matuwid Na Daan" and "Kong Walang Korap walang Mahirap". We focus on corruption, effects, its deadly-deathly results what people reaps due to this. The corrupt, i.e. persons who practice this are only collateral accomplishments about our aim of hope that they change, that those results may be averted and they may get saved from certain death even annihilation. This is because corruption is like a snake's tail held. the one holding that tail will certainly be bitten and die from venom that body defense system cannot counter. A degenerative disease that is carried over from generation to generation and only a change so necessary can stop short the disaster-destruction coming at the end.

INITAO CORRUPTION SEEN

Corruption is already a way of life, says a local government employee who in resignation see corruption as unsolvable and persistent problem that is here to stay. This employee was known to have been one of the many who somewhat idolized the late Enerito "Loloy" Acain and worked for him for so long. His survival in the local government was also due to his loyalty to him that he defended the dead man even to this days. And that he concludes whoever may be at the position to steer Initao will still live with corruption because he reasons, it is already SOP.

INDEPENDENCE DAY REMEMBERED

This morning in the town gymn, Local government officials and employees with representations from the private sectors participated in the floral offerings for this day's commemoration of Philippine Independence-from foreign dominations the nation went through. Speakers who noted only what they personally understood but did not have the full grasp what the day represents. Their speeches tell this so that listeners who have history as favorite subject will conclude that those are merely for the occasion's compliance-do not have the deeper meaning that people gets reminded about-get inspiration to defend it and even die for it like those people who fought for it and eventually died for it-for us to enjoy the freedom that they shed blood for.

CORRUPTION CURVED

Initao's corruption in LGU is alright controlled, recently points out an opposition stalwart who does not want identified here. This is due to COA that audits the local government on a regular basis. At least there is some cash inventory that somehow money is monitored closely how it's being spent by them, this person said. Initao may have therefore some kind of surplus if this person is right.

CORRUPTION TRIGGERS KILLING

The Pope knows so much why the Mid-East is in turmoil this days-that it's already made one "death valley". Arms sales make this valley a seemingly endless destination to die fast and bloody. Revenue from this reach billions even from the black market that smugglers there live like kings. This why the Pope said, corruption kills-he knew firsthand the Lord Jesus Christ was killed after He was sold for thirty pieces of silver.

OGUIS CHAIR-HOME

Tawantawan Brgy. Capt. Pat Dala recently told the Observer that Oguis Brgy. Captain Guiles Waslo is now home in his barangay. This was his wish last week, he said, after his routine medical check up and treatment-chemotheraphy in Cagayan de Oro. He is being treated cancer of his spine and financially supported by Cong. Juliet Uy. Dala also said that Waslo wanted his immediate family and relatives to take care of himself nearer not farther where they have to incur extra expenses on gasoline not counting time. He stayed in the rest house of Tenyeng Caberte near the seashore of San Pedro. Waslo no longer does heavy administrative works in his barangay, he just sign papers. SOME UNKNOWN INFO

It's said in the Bible that "Knowledge will increase", but there still more unknowns left-things yet secret and maybe known by other people but you. What are those-these? Stay with us and know them. People will inform you. My comrade told me; of course we presume people don't know so that we inform them to know. For example: An informant told the observer yesterday that the president of the Senior Citizens of San Pedro Toyang Galarroza recruited members from Poblacion to supplement membership an emaciated SC list of the barangay whose resident-members stopped attending meetings due to her mismanagement.

An Informed source told the Observer yesterday that Peping Gambe's sugar production suddenly stopped on track. This was because, the source said, hi SKs (Saka-Kanaug) left their posts and no one now man the coconuts for the necessary coco-juices. RESIDENTS WORRIED

Barangay residents are worried that what happened to Kanitoan road near the national highway when the sanded and graveled road got a repeat of what was done when rain washed that down to vehicular route portion, will also happen to other roads upland as that of Tawantawan. The rain is near its season to shower Initao soon that these paved-prepared for cementing roads will again be going chocolate-mud caked that to cement them would be too costly.

COVERED COURT-NEARLY FINISHED

Tawantawan Chair Pat Dala told the Observer this afternoon that the Congressionally funded ceiling for their basketball court is nearly finished as seen by the Observer this afternoon. Final touches by welders from the contractors were the ones given attention. And it's 1.7M, from the second district congressman the Hon. Juliet Uy, Dala said.

CRUSADE-GOING ON

The lonely path of going against the tide is what Ex-kagawad Belen Saavedra is in these days and ever since her stint in the town's legislative body, she has been dubbed, "kontrabida". This is so, for she has been making people hard on their schemes to mislead others. Her defense of public good is what seems to be the drive on-motivation to pursue social justice. "Gusto ko klaruhay", she is heard saying. If only there are more of her genetic construction, Initao may have been a better place. What he needs though is more support from Initaonons who have the sane minds of looking forward for the good of Initao as a whole. The situation, though sadly is dismal and discouraging. But Nang Belen is relentless. Hers is one role of the Town's void of check and balance.

SOLUTION-WATERED DOWN

At Belen Saavedra's drive for the solution of Initao's dirty water, the ones given by LGU to treat it was only band-aid. This was known by the Observer this morning from her who said she was only shown actions that were not to solve the problem direct. This might be recalled, she said, that this was already known last February that even the provincial government made representations for this. Still even to this day, she stressed, Initao water is still dangerously unfit for human consumption or simply dirty. And town officials are not doing something solid to lick this oroblem once and for all, she said.
