SEMINAR COMING

This morning in the Senior Citizens Affairs Office, SC coordinator Earlie Magsayo told the Observer that a wellness seminar will be conducted this coming Monday and Tuesday by German and Canadian Doctors in the Food Court. Magsayo said the general public is welcome and that as vice president of womens' organization here she helps their president in the preparation like billeting, board and lodging. The Initao LGU through Mayor Gogoy provides financial assitance and security of the visitors.

WANTED: CHAIRPERSON

Jorge Quitoriano went around town to find his replacement ar chair of VACC (VOLUNTEER AGAIBST CRIME AND CORRUPTION). In his recent visit with the Observer, he said he needs to pass the responsibility to another for he is very busy with his being radio announcer and as one of the prime movers of SG that Cesar Orquillas is spearheading as region 10 director. They have schedules in the region that needs his attention that being chair of VACC may make him ineffective of his position. The Observer referred him to Roel Arresgado, a law graduate.

TO: ALL INITAO OBSERVERS

We are not opposition nor administration. We are observers of what the admin and oppos are doing for or against Initao and we record them for purposes of record, making them references for positve future use. We support whatever good that both do, we don't what bad they'd do. It's the general benefit of Initaonons that Observers are after.

NO REGISTRATION-NO VOTING

If former SKs or voters whose ages have gone beyond 18 years must register with the COMELEC, said the local election officer. Last wee when the Observer was in their office, Initao Acting Municipal Election Officer Lorie Toledo said theses people must register that they may able to vote next election and if not they will be dismayed. "Dili sila makabotar", she said. We already informed everyone that needs to be informed, she added.

ALS SA COGON GI-KINAHANGLAN

Sa lantaw sa Observer diha Sitio Cogon, Tawantawan, ang alternative learning strategies maayong ipahimutang alang sa mga OSY dihang dapita. SK REGISTRATION GOING 0N

Recently, Mrs. Lorie Toledo, Acting Municipal Election Officer here informed the Observer that they have been accomodating SK registrants since they informed the public about it and that this will be up to the 29th this month and no more. Those whose ages after the last elections and no longer qualified to vote as SK must re-register for they need to have biometrics, Toledo said. While Congress, as known, is still deliberating what is next for SK, they, the COMELEC, she added, must prepare or are making preparations whether there are elections or none at all. "Barangay Captains were already informed", she said.

SITUATIONER

Yesterday at two pm, a vehicle accident took place in San Pedro near the Fundamental Baptist Church. One Raul Rosales, owner of the black pick-up that swerve to the left lane but he steered right-hit a portion of the Yangyang store-that was after its left rear wheel snapped and flew upward nearly hitting them. The Pick-up settled under coco-trees down the right side of the national highway. There were eight of them in that vehicle and good nobody was hurt. The Observer was informed that the local police was notified and was there-asked questions and left shortly. Near sundown the vehicle was removed on tow. The group was on two vehicles from Davao going to Iligan.

SC FEEDING DONE

This afternoon in the SC building, the supplemental feeding for selected senior citizens of Initao was held with the coordination of officers of SC federation led by their President, Willyfreda Echavez. Acting MSWDO Susan Dadole pointed out, the ocassion was a little bit emergency as she was informed just moments the program was about to begin. And Earlie Magsayo said the food and the program as a whole was sponsored by FICCO-NAAWAN. When asked by the Oberver, "ngano diay San, naa malnuourished seniors dinhe?" Dadole did not answer.
