Sept. 7, 2010-God willing Tawantawan will be one of the town's tourists destinations, barangay officials say. And by 2018 this vision shall have been attained. This was what The Observer gathered this morning in the office of the Chairman who was then in Sitio Dulag attending the need of residents for water.
Lucila Pacanut and Bernadette Dadios, secretary and treasurer repectively of Bgy. Tawantawan pointed out that tourism is one of their priority concerns and they have started clearing the highest part of the barangay, Mt. Kitanglad and planting it with trees as initial accomplishments.
The officials said the goal is ambitious indeed and costly, however it is worth it for no other benefits from this but the barangay itself. With the help of the local government supplemented by Tawantawanons working and living abroad, realization is made sweeter.
